Congratulations on the birth of your child! And congratulations for sharing our Catholic faith with your child to become a member of our parish community. As Our Lord declared: “Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). Through Baptism, an individual becomes an adoptive son of the Father, a member of Christ, and a temple of the Holy Spirit. Baptism enables one to be born anew in Christ and grants us each a share in His divine life.

Another important support to help you share your faith with your child is choosing your child’s godparents.  The role of godparents is not simply honorary, but they should assist you in sharing the Catholic faith with your child. The godparent must be an ACTIVE Catholic over 16 years of age who has received Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation, and regularly participates in Sunday Mass. If they are married, they must be married in the Catholic Church. Your godparents should contact their parish to secure a letter stating that they are eligible to serve as godparents.

The Sacrament of Baptism for Infants and Children (age 7 and younger) is celebrated on selected Saturdays. Please give us a call at the parish office to ask when Baptismal Preparation Classes are.

If you would like to register your child for Baptism you can complete the appropriate forms below or you can call the Parish Office and speak with Guadalupe to make the arrangement at 609-695-6089 or email olaparish@olanj.org. Please give us a couple of days to respond to your request.
